Trekking Everest Three Passes

The Three Passes Trek takes you over three 5,000m+ passes and is the best way to see the Everest Region if you have three weeks to spare. The trek includes elements of the Everest Base Camp Trek, but crossing the Renjo La, Cho La, and Kongma La passes offers even more breathtaking views of the Himalayan giants. The Three Passes trek can be combined with other versions of the Everest Base Camp Trek.

Since the construction of new lodges in 2010, the Manaslu Circuit Trek has become a more accessible walk that includes all of the fantastic elements you’d expect from a Classic Himalayan climb with deep, lush valleys at lower elevations, incredible views of 8,000m peaks, and a 5,000m+ pass crossing that is relatively unspoiled by tourists.

Despite its growing popularity and new road construction, the Manaslu Circuit is still remote and has fewer trekkers than Nepal’s more well-known classic treks.

Kathmandu to the trailhead takes eight hours.

The Langtang hike is a heartfelt journey. After a few years of being barren of visitors, The routes and guesthouses have been repaired since the 2015 earthquake, and trekkers have returned.

The walk takes you through beautiful forests to high alpine meadows and yak farms in the vicinity of Kyangjin Gompa (a Buddhist monastery), with an optional day hike up to Kyanjin Ri (peak).

The Annapurna Base Camp Trek takes you deep within the Annapurna Massif to the foot of Annapurna South. Because the vistas are narrower and steeper than on most other famous climbs, you’ll be looking almost straight up at the mountains that tower above you.

A 25-minute flight from Kathmandu to Pokhara is followed by a 2-hour drive; an 8-hour drive from Kathmandu to the trailhead is also an option.

  • Upper Mustang Trek through the desert slopes

The Upper Mustang Valley’s arid desert landscape.  The Upper Mustang Trek’s parched valley has a landscape that is unlike any other trek in Nepal. Mustang was once a separate country, and the strong Tibetan influences make this a very interesting tour.

Take two connecting flights from Kathmandu to Pokhara (25 minutes) and Pokhara to Jomsom (45 minutes) to get to the trailhead (20 minutes).

  • Trek to the Gokyo Lakes Gokyo village

The Gokyo Lakes Trek, like the Three Passes Trek, includes sections that are similar to the classic Everest Base Camp Trek but takes you west of Everest. At around 5,000 feet, the magnificent lakes of Gokyo are a major draw. Trekkers can then ascend Gokyo Ri (5,357m/17,575ft), a rugged summit with one of the best sweeping views of Mt Everest.
